NCRB - District Wise Crime Data: Year, State and District wise Crimes against Women by Crime Head

This dataset provides year wise, state wise, and district wise statistics on crimes against women in India by crime head. It covers major categories of offences against women, including rape, assault on women, sexual harassment, kidnapping and abduction, dowry deaths, cruelty by husband or relatives, trafficking, domestic violence, and other crimes against women, with details by age group. The source contains various crime reporting units including City Police Units, Cyber Police Units, Districts, Police Commissionerates, Railway Police, Rural Police Units, Specialized Police Units, and Others, which have been categorised using the unit_type field. The dataset enables analysis of crimes against women across crime heads, districts, states, age groups, and different types of police and crime reporting units.

Note: In 2024, for the crime head Stalking (Section 78 BNS/Section 354D IPC), the reported Total does not equal the sum of its two sub-categories, Women (18 Years and Above) and Girls (Below 18 Years). This discrepancy is present in the published NCRB source table and has been carried through unchanged.
