NCRB - District Wise Crime Data: Year, State and District wise SLL Crimes by Crime Head
This dataset provides year wise, state wise, and district wise statistics on Special and Local Laws (SLL) crimes in India by crime head. It covers major SLL categories including Arms Act, Explosives Act, NDPS Act, POCSO Act, Dowry Prohibition Act, Information Technology Act, Prevention of Corruption Act, Motor Vehicles Act, SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Wildlife Protection Act, Railways Act, Gambling Act, Excise and Prohibition laws, and other Special and Local Laws. The source contains various crime reporting units including City Police Units, Cyber Police Units, Districts, Police Commissionerates, Railway Police, Rural Police Units, Specialized Police Units, and Others, which have been categorised using the unit_type field. The dataset enables analysis of SLL crime patterns across crime heads, districts, and states.
Note: For 2017, the district-wise totals do not reconcile with the corresponding state-wise totals in the published NCRB source. The discrepancy is present in the source data and has been carried through unchanged.
